The newly crowned Super Bowl LVI champions, Los Angeles Rams and their QB, Matthew Stafford, had reasons to worry. During the victory parade, there was an incident. The unfortunate incident involved photographer Kelly Smiley falling from the edge of the stage as the live feed changed camera angles.

While Matthew Stafford was drunk and mentally absent of the incident, his wife Kelly Stafford, who was standing close by, sprang into action. The Staffords later made a heartwarming gesture for the injured photographer after her fall.

Smiley was seriously quite injured and fractured her spine from the scary fall. A by standing Matthew Stafford was in the beginning criticized for his reaction to Smiley’s unfortunate fall. But it wasn’t actually his actions that led to Smiley’s unfortunate injury. There was a lot of criticism on him because of his stature as an athlete, but he was in a moment of weakness.

The Staffords later released a statement regarding Smiley’s injury, assuring fans they were taking care of her hospital expenses and the cost of her two broken cameras. There seems a genuine concern from them for Smiley’s well-being despite the fall happening because of her unfortunate misjudgement of space.

In their joint statement with the Rams organization, it states, “We have been in communication with Kelly Smiley since yesterday’s incident…As we told Kelly, we will be covering all her hospital bills and replacing her cameras. We wish her a speedy recovery.”

Matthew Stafford and his wife: Guilty conscience?

There appears to be some guilt on the part of the Rams QB and his wife after the incident. Despite the backlash, they showed initiative to take care of Smiley. It is not the first time the 2022 Super Bowl-winning QB has been charitable to look after people. Both Stafford and his wife have a history of participating in charity work. The desire for them emanates to a degree from their own personal battles in life.

Matthew was a supporting husband to Kelly Stafford during her battle with acoustic neuroma in her cranial nerves. It was a dark time in the Stafford household, and Matthew was there through it all for Kelly, as she couldn’t go near their children. She praised him and his care that kept her encouraged to keep fighting and not give up.

After considering their lovely history of care and charity, the gesture of genuine intent is less of a coverup. It was an incident they didn’t have to address but took charge of the situation. Smiley was, to some degree, at fault for her unfortunate accident and blamed no one for her fall.

For her injury, recent reports indicate she will stay in a torso brace while resting and recovering in the trauma center. While the attention was on Smiley and her funding campaigns, there were discoveries about insensitive comments from her past. It led to her deleting her personal Twitter account.

It seems easy to find a victim in a weak situation and both Matthew Stafford and Kelly Smiley became victims of things they didn’t do or for what they did in their lesser known past.
