Lamar Jackson is the pivot for the entire Baltimore Ravens offense. And he is doing a great job with the franchise. But the question is, will he come out of the shadow of the likes of Joe Burrow, Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes? This has been the cause for a lot of debates in the NFL world.

One such debate came to a fitting conclusion when an ESPN broadcaster gave his take on why it will not happen. Not at least with Jackson playing alongside the current Ravens offense.

A fitting conclusion to the Lamar Jackson debate

After the Ravens narrowly defeated the Denver Broncos in week 13 without Lamar Jackson, ESPN host Mike Greenberg concluded a debate about his situation with the franchise in a fitting manner. Speaking on ‘Get Up’, a morning NFL he hosts on the network, he told the panelists why Jackson can never outdo the likes of Josh Allen or Pattrick Mahomes.

But at the end of the day, frustration is easy to understand. Look who Burrow is throwing to. Look who Allen is throwing to, look who Mahomes is throwing to. And look who Lamar is throwing to,” Greenberg said.

Greenberg also claimed that Ravens TE Mark Andrews is the only player with Jackson who would start on any other team in the entire AFC. So for him, the QB cannot do it with the Ravens. Jackson is in the last year of his contract with the Ravens and will be a free agent at the end of the season. But the Ravens may have to do without him, at least for a few weeks, as bad news emerged around him after the Broncos win.

Lamar Jackson did not complete the game against the Broncos. He left very early in the game with a knee injury on Sunday. And though the Ravens won regardless, they might have to do it again without him next week. He has reportedly suffered a sprained PCL that could keep him out for 1-3 weeks.

“It’s going to be a number of days to weeks. We’ll see. We’ll see if he can go back this week. If not, it will be sometime after that shortly,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said.

Backup QB Tyler Huntley will be an option to deputize in case Jackson doesn’t play next week. Jackson has been the main focal point of the Ravens success this season. He has thrown 17 touchdown passes and 2,242 yards passing. His signal calling has propelled the Ravens to the top of AFC North. How far can he take the Ravens this season? And will he stay in Baltimore beyond the end of the season?
