Lil Wayne is a recurring figure in the world of football. The Green Bay Packers fan has always been around the game in one form or another. And supported his team religiously as he went on promoting the game in his own unique way.
Recently, the famous Rapper stopped by the hit talk show, “I Am Athlete.” It is a raw-unfiltered show with great insights into how athletes think. The show’s hosts, former NFL players Chad Johnson and Brandon Marshall are composed, calm and candid.

It makes for great conversation and even greater TV. For anyone who has not stepped between the white lines, the show provides an inside view of how players talk, think, and act around each other.
Without any ‘media personnel’ present, the guests of the show are also much more casual in their approach as compared to other shows. While Lil Wayne was present, it was just as chill as watching friends get together and talk.
Lil Wayne is a football lifer
The topic of discussion evidently moved towards football at some point. The life-long Packers fan was right to believe that Aaron Rodgers would stay at Green Bay. But he also admitted that it would also be okay if Rodgers chose to move on. And that the rapper doesn’t mind the team giving a chance to Jordan Love.

Lil Wayne said that the Packers fanbase has seen this before. When they moved on from Brett Favre, the legendary QB, it was maddening for them. They had no idea at the time what Aaron Rodgers could do. And Green Bay again finds itself in a similar situation. So, the rapper was not as worried about the QB spot.

After that, the hosts ask ‘Tunechi’, “Who is your favorite athlete of all time, like if there was one guy?”
Without thinking, within a split second, the multi-Grammy-winning artist said, “Deion Sanders.”
And the rapper did not think it warrants an explanation. When asked, “Why Deion?” Wayne just kept repeating, “It’s Deion Sanders, man. Deion Sanders. Come on, man. He is Deion Sanders.”

For those who know Sanders, know that the name is enough. He was called ‘Prime Time’ for a reason and nobody even comes close to the level of swagger, charisma, and determined talent that Deion Sanders had. Lil Wayne knows his athletes for sure!
