Dallas legend Michael Irvin is clearly unhappy. The NFL titan wants to end the Colin Kaepernick debate as soon as possible. Because the 56-year-old Super Bowl winner feels the former QB’s times are gone. However, the debate to bring back the former Niners shot caller had resurfaced after Dak Prescott suffered an injury during the Week 1 clash with Tampa.
“Let’s stop with this Colin Kaepernick stuff. Let’s just stop. Colin Kaepernick’s been out of football for what five years now. Come on, man. Let’s stop all of a sudden thinking we can go resurrect Colin Kaepernick and he’s going to come and resurrect a football team. I’ll take my chances with Cooper Rush,” says the legend while talking to TV host and game expert Stephen A. Smith. His words are a clear indication that he sees no hope in the yesteryear star.

Where is Colin Kaepernick?
The QB is not active in the league anymore but trying his luck as a free agent now. He was a star in the past and a civil rights activist at present. He played six seasons for the 49ers. However, luck is tiding against his ways. He expressed his readiness to play if a team calls. However, the former QB has not played in the NFL since 2016.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell even asked the NFL teams to sign this talented star in the summer of 2020. However, he still did not fetch any interest. In the 2016 season, he ignited a debate by kneeling down during the national anthem before the games. After that season, he left the 49ers.

Why Cowboys need a new QB
In the Sunday clash, Dak Prescott fractured his right thump, and this brings a vacancy at the quarterback position moving forward. For the time being, the Cowboys may go ahead with Cooper Rush as the starting QB and Will Grier as his backup.

However, several rumors point light on if Colin Kaepernick received a second chance. For a struggling side like the Cowboys who lost the plot against Tom Brady’s Bucs last game, Kaep is a welcome addition. However, it is a hard road, and Dallas is yet to signal any information that is positive. As a result, talks about the player-turned-activist’s reentry are premature now. But sports is all about uncertainties, and nothing can be completely written off.
