Their demand among the franchises in the previous offseason skyrocketed, which included several headlining trades. The Chiefs also fell prey, as they had to trade off Tyreek Hill. GM Brett Veach offered insight and his opinion on the receivers’ market.
The Chiefs’ general manager appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to discuss the receiver market. Host McAfee asked the GM whether it was tough for Andy Reid to move on from Tyreek Hill, which opened a spectacular trade.

GM Brett Veach reflected on how Andy Reid understood the situation but did not seem happy with it. He mentioned, “We went to the Combine, and we met with Drew [Rosenhaus] and we expressed interest to; You know, we signed him. Let’s get him back here. We had some positive conversations with Drew, left the combine. A week later, free agency starts. Christian Kirk deal happens and [Davante] Adams gets traded and then the market went to another world. Then when there was like two days of silence from from Drew. We were like, okay, here we go alright. We’re getting the call here.”

The 2022 offseason saw a spike in the receivers’ market. The Russell Wilson trade looked like a steal for the Broncos. The WRs trade, whether it was for Amari Cooper or Davante Adams, stole the show. But the wideouts got a lot of recognition.
The Chiefs outpaced the Philadelphia Eagles to become the World Champions for the second time. Several may hail Patrick Mahomes and other athletes. But an NFL Insider recognized Brett Veach as the man for the franchise’s SB success.

As per Cold Wire, the NFL Insider hailed Veach during the Good Morning Football broadcast. Schrager mentioned he was astounded by what Brett Veach has accomplished with this Chiefs lineup. 24 of the 53 men on the field on Sunday were not present when they lost the AFC Championship Game the year before. He dubbed the GM “the maestro of this symphony.”
GM Brett Veach is indeed the greatest to fill in the voids and make their way to the Super Bowl.
