Melvin Gordon III left a heartfelt message for his Denver teammates after being waived. Gordon was a pivotal member of the Broncos’ offense for 3 years. However, his fumbles have been a major reason for Denver’s poor performance this season. And the Broncos had seen enough after the Raiders game last Sunday.
After the off-season arrival of quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks, the Broncos Nation flag was flying high. However, things have not gone according to plan. The Broncos are dead last in their division. Denver’s offense ranks last in the league with 14.7 points per game. And a major part of that downfall has been Melvin Gordon.

Gordon had 1 out of his season’s 5 fumbles against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The RB ran for 31 yards over 8 picks and had zero touchdowns on the night. The running back was visibly upset with his fumbles and almost broke down into tears at the post-match press conference. “Just got to be better man. You know ain’t no excuse for it,” Gordon said. Hours later, the Broncos cut him. However, he left the most amicable farewell message for the Orange Nation.
Melvin Gordon’s Instagram Farewell for Broncos Nation
Melvin Gordon was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2015 and spent 5 years with the Chargers franchise in San Diego and LA before moving to the Denver Broncos in 2020. In his farewell post on Instagram, Melvin wrote, “can’t say it’s been the easiest 3 years. But thank you anyway for helping me continue my dream.” Melvin apologised for not being able to say goodbye to everyone individually and ended his message by saying, “Dam imma miss y’all boys. The Broncos Nations fan base was not exactly upset after the RB’s dismissal. The Denver Broncos have lost 6 of their last regular season games and 11 of their last 14 games. Melvin’s fumble against the Raiders in Week 4 was even returned for a touchdown.
The Denver fans made some memes about Melvin escaping the Broncos after turning their season. These memes resembled the OJ Simpson police chase from the scandalous episode. And Melvin Gordon couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “Y’all fans was hell LMFAOOO. Let’s atleast laugh on the way out,” Gordon said on his Instagram story.
