NFL franchise Seattle Seahawks are used to top-of-the-line service in everything, and new quarterback Drew Lock can be considering what they lost: provocative. The departure of Russell Wilson has thrown cold water on all the potential championship scenarios that Seattle was dreaming of. The incoming Drew Lock symbolically ends the Russ-era in Seattle and starts a rebuilding process with a second chance to prove himself.

The former Broncos QB might not exactly be the same quality of a player as Russell Wilson. They are both different QBs at different points in their NFL career but are equally desperate for success.
Even head coach Pete Carroll seems to be building on this theme of a second chance of constructing a team capable of winning championships.
While the insinuation might appear self-serving, Carroll’s words ring true for Lock and his Seahawks teammates. During his 2021 NFL season with the Broncos, he completed 67 of his 111 passes while recording 787 passing yards and having 2 TDs and 2 INTs. He was underwhelming but might have the potential to take his game to the next level with his new team.
Is Drew Lock getting his second chance in Seattle?
While Lock gets a new lease of life in Seattle, there remains work to extract and polish his game in the upcoming season. He was the backup QB in 2021 to Teddy Bridgewater, who they did recruit from the Carolina Panthers.
The 42nd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft is going to be pitted against another QB in Seattle. It will be a showcase of if Lock can be pushed to excellence or out of the way.
Coach Carroll shares his enthusiasm to inculcate the Seahawks culture into Lock, but the fans might not be as welcoming. The NFL fans on Twitter are reserving their judgment and had a mixed bag of reactions about Lock and what he brings to the table.
