Former Bucs cornerback, who is currently a free agent now, Richard Sherman, recently engaged in social media banter with former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho. Acho is currently working for Fox as an analyst. He recently made an analysis regarding the better defensive player of the year (DPOY) candidate between the Niners’ defensive end, Nick Bosa, and the Cowboys’ linebacker, Micah Parsons.

However, his analysis did not go down well with Sherman, as he took a dig at Acho on social media. It is worth noting that Bosa and Parsons have been amazing this season for their respective teams, as both teams are heading toward playoffs.

Richard Sherman bashes Emmanuel Acho for his DPOY analysis

Earlier, the official Twitter handle of the NFL on CBS posted a statistics chart comparing Nick Bosa and Micah Parsons for the DPOY debate. After analyzing the stats, Acho felt the graphics were misleading. He said, “The graphic displays who’s a better pass rusher, which is objectively Bosa. But Parsons makes more game changing plays (scoring on defense, etc), and plays with greater effort.”

Sherman countered Acho with an argument that Bosa had 3 sacks against the Dolphins. Moreover, he called Acho’s analysis irrelevant. Then, Acho further said that there was subliminal manipulation in the stats shown in the graphics. According to him, Bosa is a better pass rusher, but Parsons is a better defensive player.

After listening to Acho’s argument, Sherman bashed the former linebacker for putting his opinion over facts. “That is an opinion you are stating as an objective fact. There is no subliminal manipulation at all. Your OPINION is that Parsons is the better player my OPINION is that Bosa is the better player. Both SUBJECTIVE, however those numbers are OBJECTIVE,” Sherman further commented.

Notably, many fans also agreed with Sherman’s argument, as they felt Acho’s analysis was his opinion. As per the statistics, Bosa has far better numbers than Parsons despite playing one less game. In 11 games, the Niners‘ defensive end has 14.5 sacks, 34 quarterback hits, 15 tackles for loss, and 62 pressure points with 19.3 %.

As for Parsons, he has 12 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 22 quarterback hits, and 58 pressure points with 18.4%. Safe to say, Bosa is already beating him to the DPOY award. However, the season has not ended yet, as the Cowboys’ linebacker still has a chance to catch him.
