According to recent news, 27-year-old former Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will soon start practicing with his current team, the Cleveland Browns. If everything goes according to his plan, he will play in the week 12 game in Houston.

Notably, the quarterback spent four seasons with the Houston team. However, he almost missed 2 years in the league due to multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. Earlier in August, Watson settled with the NFL and accepted his suspension.

Deshaun Watson is finally playing a game for the Browns

According to the GM of the Browns, Andrew Berry, Watson will start practicing soon and most likely play for the team on December 4. “It’s been great to have him back in the building. He’s been focused on working on himself, he’s stayed in great shape, he’s been a part of the meetings, he’s done everything and more that’s been asked of him,” Berry said.

“We’ll be excited to have him when he can continue to ramp up football activities and get back on the practice field,” the Browns GM further said.

It is worth noting that Deshaun Watson did not play in the 2021 season, as he was facing legal issues. He reported to the Browns‘ training facility last month, attending various meetings and other things while serving his suspension. If he plays against his former team on December 4, it will be his first regular-season appearance in over 700 days. Notably, he did play one pre-season game for them against Jacksonville.

Jacoby Brissett has been playing well in the absence of Watson

While Watson was unavailable, Jacoby Brissett played well for the Browns. On Monday, they played the Bengals and Brissett threw 278 yards for one touchdown. And the Browns won the game by a big margin (32-13). However, their overall record hasn’t been great this season, as they won 3 games out of 8.

The QB’s coming back will give the team a much-needed boost, no doubt. In his last season with the Texans, he played 16 games and threw 4823 yards for 33 touchdowns. Safe to say, he had a good last season with the Texans. It will be interesting to see if he finds his feet straightway with Cleveland. Before playing against the Texans on December 4, the Browns team will play against the Dolphins, the Bills, and the Bucs. Certainly, those games will be tough for Brissett and the Browns, as they are trying to rebuild.
