This year AFC West is filled with exceptional talents, and teams like the Las Vegas Raiders are reaping the benefits. To make up for the loss the franchisee incurred in the playoffs last season, they took the initiative to strengthen both offensive and defensive units.

Arizona Cardinals DE Chandler Jones was the first person to make it into the Raiders roster, and days later, elite wide receiver Davante Adams joined the team. Even though it may be a big blow to the Packers’ offense, Jones believed the Raiders can achieve some real victories in the division.

While speaking to The Herd’s Joy Taylor, Chandler Jones touched on various aspects, including Adams’s acquisition this off-season. He affirmed that playing defense against a team having Adams on the offense can be dreadful, and he was glad to have him on his side.

“I would hate to be a defensive coordinator, going to sleep knowing that I have to face Davante Adams that Sunday. I’m glad he’s on my side,” Chandler said on the show.

Indeed, the Fresno state alumnus was an asset for the Aaron Rodgers-led offensive unit since getting selected into the NFL in 2014. His blaze and speed made him the first choice receiver for the QB and registered several records to his name.

The 29-year-old posted 11 touchdowns and 1,553 receiving yards last season and recorded surpassed 1300 yards three times in the past four years.

According to a news outlet, Rodgers, on several occasions, affirmed that having Adams on the team is like having an alternate QB on the field. If this is true, it will bolster the Raiders’ offensive unit more this time.

Chandler Jones explains how dedicated is Davante Adams

Raiders made a smart move by acquiring Jones and All-Pro wide receiver Adams in the same off-season. After spending a significant time with each other in practice sessions and OTAs, the former Super Bowl Champion admitted Adams works a lot and repeats the process. “He is a very hard worker. You know, if he doesn’t do something right, he’ll try to go and do it again.” Jones said.

“He won’t say, hey I got this…He’ll go out there and do ripping and repeat the drill and that shows that he loves football. He loves the game. He’s a hard worker. I think him himself is a dangerous person I have, for our team for different defensive coordinators.” The edge rusher added to his speech.

Meanwhile, it is to be noted that both Derek Carr (Las Vegas Raiders QB) and Davante Adams played with each other for the Fresno state in 2013. Moreover, Jones also vowed to have seen both Carr and Adams sharing their friendship on the field.

Thus, a reunion nearly a decade later is expected to create more magic for the offensive side and improve their playoff chances in the upcoming 2022 season.
