Baltimore Ravens have made some moves this offseason. But their biggest asset Lamar Jackson is still in limbo. Now, it looks like a solution is still nowhere in sight. The QB had dropped a bombshell by asking for a trade away from the franchise. Although the Odell Beckham Jr. signing ignited some hopes of him staying at the M&T Bank Stadium, the signals are that all is still not well in Baltimore. And his social media activities are proof.
Jackson has run out of his rookie contract with the Ravens five years after joining them as a first-round draft pick. Both parties have been in negotiations for over a year. But they haven’t found a solution as of yet. The QB’s latest activity on social media indicates that things aren’t getting better any time soon.

Lamar Jackson has hit out at fake people in his life through multiple stories on Instagram. He posted a series of disappearing posts talking about the need to keep fake people and hypocrites out of one’s life. The situation looks to be worsening with the Ravens.
“Fake people in the world, feed em with a pole. Never let them in,” one of the stories read.
In another similar post, Jackson said he was confused as some people hated him but still continue to watch him. In yet another post, he called on his followers to be proud of who they are and never be ashamed of how someone else perceives them to be.
This comes amid stalled contract talks with the Ravens. Jackson has been the pivot of the offense in Baltimore for the better part of half a decade. But his future with the franchise is not secure although the Ravens’ front office has indicated that they want to keep him. How did it get to such a stage?

Jackson has been an asset to the Ravens, and they want to sign him on a long-term deal. For that, they sat down with him last offseason to discuss the deal, but nothing came out of the negotiations. Things have actually turned sour ever since.
Jackson played the 2022 season on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal. After the season ended, the Ravens came up with a non-exclusive franchise tag for their QB. That means that he can talk about a new contract with other NFL teams. The ace in the Ravens’ hand is that they can match the contract and keep their player.
