Lamar Jackson is without a doubt one of the NFL’s biggest stars. The Ravens quarterback caught the attention of seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady early this year.

Brady announced a very short-lived retirement this year. During this time, the current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback gave Jackson a shoutout on Instagram.
What did Brady say about Lamar Jackson?
Tom Brady posted a story on Instagram that features a picture of Jackson and himself during a game. Brady tagged Jackon and captioned the story, “Your [You’re] Next❤️”
After the Bucs’ recent loss to the Ravens, Brady was asked about Jackson and his post in the post-game press conference.
Brady said, “He’s an amazing player and he challenges defense.” He also stated that the Ravens quarterback has a really unique skillset and applauded his ability to improvise.
Jackson’s reaction to Brady’s praise
In conversation with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks, Jackson had some interesting things to say about Tom Brady’s post. The Ravens quarterback stated that the two of them are yet to have a sit-down, personal conversation.
Speaking of Brady’s cryptic “You’re Next”, Jackson hoped that it was meant positively. The Ravens star assumed that Brady meant that he [Jackson] was next in line to be a champion.

Jackson also jokingly added, “I was mad I posted it.” He said that because Tom Brady had come back from retirement after he [Jackson] reposted the Bucs’ quarterback’s statements.
Bucs suffered a disappointing loss to the Ravens

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a losing slump. The Bucs lost to the Ravens 27-22, making it their third consecutive loss.
Tom Brady is arguably the most decorated quarterback in the league with seven Super Bowl titles. This is the first season since 2002 that the quarterback has had three consecutive losses.
Both quarterbacks have been in the news recently. Tom Brady’s divorce from Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen has been making the rounds and casting the spotlight on the quarterback. On the other hand, Lamar Jackson’s complicated contract negotiation is garnering more attention by the day. Post their victory against Tampa, Jackson signed a fan poster that read “Pay’Em Now”.

Currently, the Bucs and Ravens are at 3-5 and 5-3 respectively.
