After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost against the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Wild Card Round, they showed the door to the OC of the team. Tampa Bay fired Byron Leftwich on January 19. During his time with the team, he guided the best offense in the league. With Tom Brady and other teammates, he earned a spot in the playoffs for the past three seasons. But now, another team wants him to coach their powerful quarterback.

He also helped the Bucs win a Super Bowl right when TB12 signed with them in 2020. Their offense was top-3 in 2021. However, this season, their performance dipped as the offense struggled, and ended up 15th overall and 25th in scoring offensively. Despite that, the Baltimore Ravens head coach is interested in bringing Leftwich to work with his offense and train Lamar Jackson and the other team members.

It is not clear when exactly Harbaugh spoke with the 43-year-old coach. Nor it is certainly known if the team brought him for a formal interview. Apart from him, Harbaugh met with a dozen of the other coaches. Some he has already interviewed twice. But with candidates like Vikings tight ends coach and passing game coordinator Brian Angelichio, Broncos offensive coordinator Justin Outten, Seahawks quarterbacks coach Dave Canales, and the University of Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken in the mix, it’s unclear if Leftwich is still in the running for the position.

And since the new OC coach will work closely with Jackson, Harbaugh gives him the chance to choose the right person for the job. However, there are swirling rumors that say that the 26-year-old will get swooped by an AFC team if the Ravens do not offer him a high-paying contract.
