The Louiseville Football family, including Lamar Jackson, is in deep sorrow for the loss of their former defensive lineman Dejmi Dumervil-Jean who is reported to have died this Thursday. The untimely death of the young player came out as a shock after St. Thomas Aquinas High School took to Twitter through their athletics account, to announce the death of their former student.

“It is with great sadness that we learn the passing of this gentle giant,” the account tweeted. “St. Thomas Aquinas Football great Dejmi Dumervil-Jean’s heart was as big as his stature.”

Lamar Jackson pays tribute to Dejmi Dumervil-Jean

The shocking and saddening news on reaching the Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who himself is a former Louisville Cardinals player, took to Twitter to mourn for the loss of the young player. “Fly high lil bra,” the Ravens quarterback tweeted.

Although the two players never shared the gridiron together, as Lamar was drafted the same year (2018), Dumervil-Jean started playing for the Cardinals. But the two did share the feeling of being a Cardinal in the heart.

Dumervil-Jean, who was the nephew of former NFL defensive end and Cardinal alum Elvis Dumervil, started his college football career with the University of Louisville in the year 2018, where he registered six tackles in nine games.

Louisville Cardinals saddened by the loss

“We are saddened to hear about the passing of Dejmi on Thursday,” Louisville coach Scott Satterfield said. “Our condolences and prayers are extended to his family during this difficult time. He will be missed by the UofL Football family.”

Although the details on the death of the former Cardinals defensive lineman have not been released at this time, but the entire college community seems shocked by his untimely death. As multiple players and former teammates have dedicated their tweets to mourn for such an immense loss, and praying for the well-being of his family.
