The NFL Sunday of week 2 witnessed a blockbuster face-off between the Lamar Jackson-led Baltimore Ravens and Tua Tagovailoa’s Miami Dolphins. The game seemed one-sided till the third quarter, but everything turned upside down in the final minutes. Moreover, Jackson also created an NFL record for rushing yards.

The quarterbacks are like the precious gems protected by a bunch of players from being sacked by the opponents. And inspite of that being able to rush for more than 100 yards and score a fabulous touchdown is an achievement.
The Ravens quarterback registered his 11th 100-yard rushing game on Sunday. He surpassed Michael Vick, who was earlier reigning the throne with 10 games. Jackson rushed for 119 yards with a 79-yard touchdown by himself. However, all of this went in vain. The Dolphins won 42-38 against the Ravens.
While speaking to the reporters, Jackson was asked how it felt to break a long-time undisputed record. The 25-year-old was unbothered and didn’t seem impressed by his achievement.
According to him, nothing is more important than winning a game. “I want to win,” Jackson said. “That record doesn’t mean nothing if we’re not winning,” he added. Till the third quarter Ravens were leading with a huge margin of 35-14 and three touchdowns in their bank.
However, Tagovailova pulled it back in the last quarter, making it one of the greatest comebacks in recent history. However, Jackson’s Offense could only add three more points for 89 yards. “We just got to finish. It came down to the fourth quarter. They were putting points on the board, and we weren’t. We just got to finish when we’re up.” he said to the reporters.
Apart from Lamar Jackson, who else has breached the 100 yards barrier?
In NFL history, only a few quarterbacks were able to rush more than 100 yards in a single game. And Lamar Jackson’s recent record is something hard to surpass for a few more seasons.
