Last year, Lamar Jackson shocked the NFL world, when he rejected a $250 million deal ($133 million guaranteed) worth five years with the Ravens. Since then, both parties failed to reach an agreement regarding the quarterback’s contract. As per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, both sides have become further apart now, as Jackson could be on his way out of the Ravens team.
Earlier, another NFL insider, Dov Kleiman, reported that the Ravens and Jackson are ‘100 million apart’ at the moment. After this news broke out, many fans felt that Jackson is finally done with the Ravens.

Earlier, Fowler said, “Those trade calls are coming. I don’t get the sense that that process has heated up, in part because teams are assuming Jackson will be tagged. It’s still very early on this one.”
After Kleiman reported the same news, many fans expressed their opinions on Twitter, as one user wrote.
Jackson is done being a Raven

Meanwhile, one Falcons fan wants to see Jackson play for the Atlanta team.

It is worth noting that Deshaun Watson‘s fully guaranteed deal with the Browns has changed the landscape of the NFL completely. As a result, many fans want the Ravens to offer Jackson a fully guaranteed deal. One fan on Twitter actually thinks that the 26-year-old QB deserves more than Watson and other NFL quarterbacks.
He deserves more than Kyler. Watson deal is an outlier.

On the other hand, one fan thinks the Watson deal hampered the Ravens big time.

Meanwhile, many fans also showed skepticism over Jackson’s choice of rejecting the earlier contract proposal.
Doing quick math your going off the rumor Lamar got 130 and comparing Deshauns deal saying he’s going to get the same thing? Interesting 😂

Meanwhile, another fan questioned Jackson’s durability to deserve that kind of money.
The main concern with lamar his first few years was, will he hold up. The last 2 yrs kind of answered that. Yet he still wants a guaranteed deal? Not very realistic. Really wanna see how this plays out.
— Uncle Glenny (@Maratea20G) February 5, 2023
Apart from that, many fans are not taking the news seriously.
If it don’t say “per ravens or Lamar Jackson” I ain’t believing shit
— Mr. Big Sexy 😎 (@_KingBaldy) February 5, 2023
Another user questioned the authenticity of the news.
Fowler has no inside info. He’s using the same information he had last pre season
— Mr. Maryland (@MaryIandGuy) February 5, 2023
One more fan felt the news is just an opinion.
“could possibly be” tells me everything I need to know. This is an opinion, not a fact. 😂

It is worth mentioning that the last official contract negotiation took place back in September last year. As mentioned earlier, Jackson did not accept the $250 million offer. Then, Jackson suffered a PCL injury during the Week 13 game against the Broncos. Since then, he has not played a single game, including the postseason.

Many experts accused him of sitting out while the Ravens were playing in the post-season. However, Jackson then clarified his injury status on Twitter, as he suffered a Grade 2 PCL strain.
Jackson returned to the field in a different role
During the recently concluded Pro Bowl game, Jackson took the field not as a player but as a water boy. Notably, he was still recovering from the injury; hence, he did not start the game for AFC. As the water boy failed to do his job, he rushed toward the field to help his teammates.

Although he did not play the game, he certainly helped his team off the field, as the AFC clinched the victory over the NFC. Now, it seems like Jackson will most likely become a free agent in the off-season and we could see him in new colors in the 2023 season.
