The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson standoff has reached its penultimate stage. After multiple failed attempts of reaching common ground, the Ravens have put Jackson under their non-exclusive franchise tag. The final call however still remains with the Baltimore Ravens, who have the option to either match the offer that Jackson gets or possibly reject it. Going by the social media updates, Jackson has been more or less silent on this issue but recently, he posted something cryptic on Twitter.

Amidst all of the chaos surrounding him, Lamar Jackson might have something cooking in the shadows, as he earlier took to Twitter to share a rather cryptic message to both his fans and his many haters out there.

Being blessed with a tough grit mentality has been Lamar Jackson’s biggest blessing throughout his entire NFL career. While the noise around Jackson keeps engulfing the truth from fiction. Jackson has repeatedly used social media as a medium to speak out his truth. The entire NFL community found themselves shell-shocked as teams started pulling out of the Lamar Jackson negotiations.

Many considered this a masterstroke from the Ravens, and even suspected ‘collusion’ to play a role. Others felt that Jackson not having an NFLPA agent might be getting in his way.

In another massive turn of events, the NFL handed out memos accusing Lamar Jackson’s business partner of attempting to persuade negotiations in his favor. As per the NFLPA rules, Lamar Jackson is the only person allowed to communicate with NFL franchises regarding a potential contract.

With all the drama surrounding him, Jackson took to Twitter to express his will to get out of this stronger.

Jackson shared a cryptic message showcasing his tough mentality, “I’m the storm”.

In another tweet, Jackson said, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper“.

Lamar Jackson certainly feels targeted, and maybe these tweets were just a way for him to get his head clear. Whatever the case might be, all eyes are glued to the Lamar Jackson debacle, and reports have gotten frequent by the day.

The beginning of all

The Baltimore Ravens wanted to offer Lamar Jackson a contract somewhere between $160-180 million guaranteed on the table. However, Deshaun Watson went on to sign a five-year, $230 million guaranteed deal with the Cleveland Browns.

Jackson wanted to be compensated on an equal front as Watson and thus began the infamous tussle. From a purely theoretical standpoint, Lamar Jackson should be compensated more than Deshaun Watson, but the Baltimore Ravens don’t agree.
