This offseason not only witnessed the wide receivers setting a new benchmark. But it also saw the quarterback market boom with some crazy deals. As of now, most of the top-tier passers have wrapped up their negotiations. But the Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is still under the radar for not signing an extension as the season is about to begin in a few days.
Ever since the Denver Broncos offered their new quarterback Russell Wilson a whopping $245 million deal, fans were curiously looking for Jackson to sign a similar contract. However, there have been no official updates from the team or the quarterback.

Earlier it was Cardinals QB Kyler Murray who signed for a $230.5 million contract this offseason, but Wilson’s deal got him off the hook. Looking at the potential of this youngster compared to other veterans, Lamar Jackson is not expected to take a single penny less than his predecessors.
However, a matter of concern happens to be the reason that the 25-year-old is representing himself and has no agent to cover for him. Thus, making it more difficult for the fans to receive first-hand updates about the rumored negotiations.
For the last few days, Jackson was playing mind games with the netizens. Whenever the discussion about extension talks took place, the signal-caller made cryptic comments, leaving the fans to ponder. The most recent one was a meme shared by one of the fans, a popular meme referencing his negotiations.

Jackson shared the tweet with a laughing emoji. A similar instance happened a few days ago when a fan claimed that Jackson was offered $250 million, and the quarterback rejected the proposal. It took no time for Jackson to intervene, saying that the comment was baseless.
Fans speculating their theories on Lamar Jackson not signing an extension
Lamar Jackson is gearing up to play in the fifth NFL season of his rookie contract. He is carrying a whopping $23 million salary heading into the campaign. And with the recent developments, it is expected to rise in the upcoming seasons. One of the fans was asking for the reason why he was denied a contract.
Why haven’t they paid you? Well you’re not like other Quarterbacks. 16-13 TD-INT ratio. 2,882 Yards (25th) So you tell me why the Baltimore ravens have not paid you yet.

While Robert Griffin suggested an alternate solution.
Offer needs to be 6 year 318 million fully guaranteed. 53 a year. Highest paid Player Ever. Unanimous MVP. Winner. Puts in the work. Team Guy. Stop playing with him.

This user had his analysis to exhibit.
No team other than the browns giving out fully guaranteed contracts. I understand your side, and respect it, but it’s time to sign a deal man. Baltimore loves you and wants you here for life. Ravens just trying to be as safe as possible after what flacco did

While this fan had a bizarre reason to showcase.
The Ravens must not really value him the way they should. He’s been a team leader and very productive but they’re afraid to give him a real contract. I don’t get it. Without him they’re sunk but they’re already planning for his replacement

As of now, there hasn’t been any confirmation from either side. Jackson had earlier announced that he would not engage in talks once the regular season begins. Thus, it becomes the responsibility of the franchise to secure him before he becomes a free agent next year.
