AI is taking over the world. With advancements in technology, artificial intelligence is on the way to surpassing humans, or so many believe. The trendiest of the lot is ChatGPT, as the Internet often turns to the natural language processing tool to have human-like conversations. ChatGPT has proved to be quite the responsive tool, however, its accuracy still remains questionable. And, the Chargers seem to be particularly unhappy with this new change.

It was maybe the accuracy of ChatGPT’s responses that rubbed a certain NFL franchise the wrong way. The AI Chatbot was asked to rank the top 10 NFL uniforms in existence, and well not many seemed to agree with the results.

As demanded, ChatGPT quickly came up with a list of the Top 10 NFL uniforms. Pittsburgh Steelers took the number one spot, while the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys graced the second and third positions. Right after that were the LA Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Chicago Bears. Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, and Miami Dolphins completed the list taking the final three slots.

While ChatGPT shared its opinions with the world, surprisingly the LA Chargers were left off and the franchise didn’t take this lightly. Soon, the Chargers took to Instagram to share, “These robots are 🚮


The same sentiments were echoed by the NFL community as well, fans agreed that the Chargers’ uniform at least deserved a top-five spot, if not the best of the lot. One fan even felt that the world should not be scared of AI taking over jobs, as it can’t even get a list right.

The Chargers’ uniform has gone through its fair share of iterations, and even though the design might not have impressed ChatGPT, the history certainly should have.

Chargers are among the best

Back in 2007, the Chargers’ uniform embraced the navy blue and white, switching the colors between the jerseys and the pants for home and away games. Two years later, the franchise celebrated its 50th anniversary, and patches were added to all of their uniforms.

In 2012, the LA franchise teamed up with Nike but the color patterns remained the same, the only difference was a thin white flap that previously followed the V-neck line now stops just below the shoulder numbers. The recent change came in 2020, as a white helmet was added with a white facemask and a gold lightning bolt with a Navy blue outline.

Almost every top 10 NFL uniform list has seen the Chargers emerging as the eventual victors, and even though ChatGPT dropped the ball this time, Chargers fans know the reality.
