Kyler Murray’s NFL journey has been full of ups and downs. It is no surprise that the quarterback has already insinuated moving on or at least always kept the doors open from the start. As per the latest revelations by former Arizona players, Kyler Murray will not stay with Cardinals for long. Currently, they have the delightful QB-WR pairing of Murray and Hopkins. How long they can milk out these two elite players remains to be seen.

In a recent podcast, former Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson said, “No. I’ve been around K1. He’s a competitor, “ the Minnesota Cornerback added, “And I feel like, no disrespect to the Arizona Cardinals, I feel like they don’t put the team in a position to be successful year after year after year. They want to sit and wait on draft picks instead of being aggressive in free agency and going and getting guys that can help you get better right now versus waiting on the future. And Kyler Murray’s not gonna sit around and wait for that.”

“Man, the way things are, and how people just move and get traded, I don’t think so, it’s a new way, bro. It’s a new era in the NFL.”

Edmonds added, “He wants to win. People are gonna say a lot of things about K1, but he wants to win more than anything, I promise you that. And so, if the winning ain’t happening, I don’t know.”

Kyler Murray has big plans in the NFL

Murray is a Heisman winner. The first overall pick. And he plays with a chip on his shoulder. So it is only natural that if the team around him is not contention level, soon enough he will start looking over his shoulder.

It would not be surprising to see Kyler Murray take his talents elsewhere. As Edmonds rightly pointed out, NFL is changing, and more and more players can call their shot. They can have great influence over where they are traded.

And someone of the stature of Murray will surely get to do that. The only other big reason to stay with Arizona would be a big ticket contract. But again with the cap situation, the big ticket contracts hamper overall team growth. So the Cardinals are stuck in a difficult situation.

How they get out and if they are able to reach a Super Bowl before that, remains a big question. The fan base is surely looking forward to a big win for the team. It has been a long time coming.
