The Houston Texans are determined to secure a better draft pick next year as one of the lowest-scoring teams in the NFL. They are placed at the bottom of the AFC South with just a single win. Amid this misery, the franchise pulls out a Jets move, benching the current starter, Davis Mills.

According to the latest updates forwarded by the NFL insider, head coach Love Smith is planning to elevate Kyle Allen for the job. The Texas A&M product will face the Dolphins on Sunday after the team suffered one of the frustrating defeats last week against the Commanders.

The Texans exhibited one of their worst performances and assured one more exit without aiming for a playoff berth. Speaking about the adjustments, Smith kept his mum and didn’t disclose any strategies ahead of the matchup. “I do not announce who’s starting through the week,” he said.

“We have a starting lineup, the last one that we have. But during the week, of course, we’re not going to announce anything like that. I think that would give an opponent an advantage. Our starting lineup… is the same one until told otherwise.” he added.

Indeed, Smith’s concerns are understandable as their agony continues to grow, and the early announcement might leave them stranded without any backup plans.

The move comes just days after the Jets made an unexpected decision to demote Zach Wilson and choose Mike White for the job. During the 23-10 loss to the Commanders, Mills completed 19-of-33 passes for 169 yards without any touchdowns. He was sacked five times in the game, and his two interceptions with a pick-six left the fans more furious.

Fans mock Houston Texans and their latest decision

According to the fans, major revamps aren’t going to make any difference for a team like the Texans, who are already out of contention. However, the performance of Davis Mills certainly proved to be a headache for the management. He is placed 30th in the QB rating and leads the interception rankings.

Fans resorted to mock his physique after all.
