With each passing day, the issue between the New York Giants and their quarterback Daniel Jones is becoming a hot affair. After having a career-best season in the NFL in 2022, Jones is now seeking a fat $45 million contract from the Giants. However, the Giants have not been able to come to a conclusion about the demands of the quarterback.

Now, after days of stalemate, the Giants have offered a new contract to Daniel Jones. But it is far from the kind of money Patrick Mahomes makes. Is the negotiation between Jones and the Giants finally heading to a mutually understandable direction?

According to NFL insider Dov Kleiman, the New York Giants have provided Daniel Jones with a new contract. The freshly drafted contract for the quarterback is worth between $35 million to $39 million per year. This is less than what the QB has been demanding from the franchise, as Jones initially wanted a $45 million multi-year contract extension from the Giants.

Fans also voiced their opinions on social media about the contract demands and negotiations.

After a fruitful 2022 season, the New York Giants feel that Daniel Jones is an integral part of the team. His contributions on the field helped the Giants to their first playoff position since 2016. There is no doubt that Jones is a talented player on the field. But the question is whether the New York Giants feel that the QB is worth the money he is demanding.

The Giants have made their counter offer to Jones’ demand. What remains to be seen is whether the QB will accept this contract or stick to his own demands. The free agency is set to begin on March 15, and both the player and the team are slowly running out of time to come to a conclusion.

If the negotiations fail again, they still have the option to franchise tag the player as the deadline for teams to use the franchise tag is March 7. But whatever the case may be, it seems like we will finally see the path Jones will be walking on in the next few days.
