Kevin Demoff addresses fans in a heartfelt letter
Los Angeles Rams COO Kevin Demoff addressed fans in a heartfelt letter on the team’s website. In the letter, Demoff talked about how the team is prepping to compete for the NFC West division title and march forward toward Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. He further talked about how during the trade deadline last year, the Rams neither had the draft capital nor the cap space to engage in trade conversation to acquire top-rated players for their team.

The Rams had to choose between restructuring the contracts of players or replenishing their draft caption and improving their salary-cap situation. They chose to go with the latter. This led to them having 11 draft picks in the 2023 draft and also having the capital for possible trades to go through.

Demoff said, “From a salary cap perspective, while we have had to move on from players who helped us lift a Lombardi Trophy at SoFi Stadium, we have taken all of our salary cap pain in 2023 and project to have more than $60 million in space in 2024, the most salary cap space we have had since our move to Los Angeles.” The Rams have a slow progression with the trade window this season, as they traded CB Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins for two first-round draft picks and TE Hunter Long.
