Kelly Stafford Dated Her College Backup QB to ‘P*ss Off’ Matthew Stafford: “We Went Back And Forth There With a Little Bit of Love and Hate”

Kelly and Matthew Stafford have become a sensation in the NFL, and they are extremely supportive of one another. The couple met each other during their time at the University of Georgia, where the athlete was a starting quarterback for the Bulls, and Kelly was a cheerleader of the team.

The couple’s love tale is worthy of an adolescent rom-com. Although every good love story has some obstacles, as was here too. Yet it didn’t stop Kelly from making a surprising move as she dated the Bulls’ backup quarterback just to make Stafford envious.

Mrs. Stafford recently spoke to Barstool Sports’ KFC Radio, where she opened up about their relationship during college and explained the tale of the infamous ‘backup’ plan when Matthew wasn’t ready for a serious relationship.

She revealed, “Our college relationship was the typical college; I would say a relationship where there wasn’t really one because [Matthew Stafford] didn’t want one. That a**hole. We went back and forth there with a little bit of love-hate. Some of my podcasts is our story because it’s a funny, really funny f**king story because we were all over the place. I dated the backup to p*ss him off. That was the type of situation we were in.”

Kelly further argues that the athlete deserved it. Although she also called him a genuine soul, with the backup QB being a bad guy. In the end, they are now together, and they went through a lot, so the backup plan had to take place.
