That’s not all. The popularity of the NFL draft is expected to pull in more than 300,000 spectators over three days from April 27-29. And officials expect the number to increase since it is a free event, devoid of ticketing charges. Understandably, the festival mood has bitten the city’s champion quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. “Draft Day KC, Let’s go,” he tweeted, coupled with a shout-out to the Chiefs Kingdom.

Besides recognizing college talents, the Draft ceremonies are massively helpful in reviving the economies of the host cities. The economic impact on Kansas City is expected to be upwards of $100 million. This will come through various avenues, like hotels, restaurants, transportation, tourism, and, of course, the sale of food and beverages.

How was Mahomes’ draft experience?

Time has flown since Patrick Mahomes entered the NFL in the 2017 draft as an accomplished quarterback coming out of Texas Tech. He went as the 10th overall pick, in the first round, something that NFL fans find hard to fathom. There has been no looking back ever since for Mahomes. He became the youngest league and Super Bowl MVP in the next two years. Mahomes repeated the feat this year when he bagged both league and Super Bowl MVPs in the same year. The passer became the first to achieve this feat since Kurt Warner in 1999.
