Patrick Mahomes is suffering the worst start in his NFL career so far. Into week 5 of the 2021 season, the Kansas City Chiefs have registered a petty worth 3-2 stance in the league.
Mahomes hasn’t delivered such poor numbers since his draft in the year 2017. Although it can be very much understood that the Chiefs have to deal with a struggling defensive lineup but the quarterback himself is putting little to no effort in order to overcome their lacking.

Patrick Mahomes hits rock bottom
Mahomes ever since his appearance as the starting QB for the franchise in 2018 hasn’t gone down to these stats ever. During the first five games of the regular season, Mahomes has always finished with a good overall stance in the AFC West divisional table but in 2021.
The Chiefs have finished with a 5-0 haul in 2018, 4-1 in 2019, 4-1 in 2020, and now an undignified 2-3 haul in 2021, up until the fifth week of the regular season. With this being said, it seems pretty evident that there is something very wrong with the Chiefs this season. And that something is mostly the defense.

However, being the quarterback, Patrick is himself tired of the lack of efficiency of the defense and does little to nothing to overcome it. As though Mahomes has thrown the most touchdown passes so far this season compared to others.

However, Mahomes has also thrown five interceptions in five games this season, which is also more than any of his previous seasons. Bringing his tally to 13 interceptions in his last 14 starts.
This has been the first time in Patrick’s NFL career so far that after five games, the Chiefs are now at the very bottom of the AFC West division table. And as the Week 6 clash against the Washington Football Team approaches near, it becomes very crucial for them to seal a victory in order to regain hopes for the title race.
