The AFC championship game might have been the last time we saw Tyrann Mathieu in a Chiefs’ helmet. The future is uncertain for the defensive star as if right now. But the Honey Badger is making some positive, and big predictions about next season.

Tyrann Mathieu gets emotional after the Chiefs AFC championship game
Safety has been a vital part of the Kansas City Chiefs this season. Mathieu is one of the Chiefs’ breakout stars ever since joining the team in 2018. Over the span of three seasons, he has made 13 interceptions and defended 27 passes. Tyrann Mathieu has been the heart and soul of the chiefs’ defense.
After the Bengals game, a reporter asked Mathieu the big question. He asked how eager is the safety to remain in Kansas City. The Honey Badger seemed very emotional. Even his voice cracked while giving the answer.
Holding back the years he replied, “I hope so.” Mathieu continues, “Ever since I came here, you know, I’ve just tried to be the right kinda teammate. I’ve tried to play my part. — it’s always that feeling that you know, you can make more plays for your team, but I’m hoping it works out.” After this, Tyrann explained that this was not in his hands. Mathieu said everything under his control, and he tries to do it with a smile.

Tyrann Mathieu might have hinted at his departure from the Chiefs on Twitter. Regardless of where the star might end up next year, he is positive about the future. In a recent tweet, Mathieu wrote:
Next year will be my greatest year yet! I’m calling it now!!! Driven to go the distance! I will!!! I must!!! I can!!!!
