Since 2016, Colin Kaepernick has not been able to make it back into the league. Before all of his controversies, Kaepernick was slowly becoming one of the better-shot callers in the league. However, since 2016, there haven’t been any teams that have given him a chance to play in the league. Interestingly, Kaepernick seems to have a problem with a particular team that might have had actually had an interest in Kaepernick. Moreover, the team that Kaepernick recently spoke up about has been involved in making some big moves with Tom Brady.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Kaepernick spoke about how he had worked out with a popular NFL team in 2019. Even though he had gone on to put up a nice show, he had a lot of complaints from the team that worked out with.

The ex-San Francisco 49ers QB went on to have a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders were looking for a backup QB and they took Kaepernick for a workout. However, despite having the workouts with the Raiders, he did not get a contract with the Raiders. After speaking to SI recently, he went on to speak about how he felt about his own talents as well as what he felt about the direction the Raiders went in.
Admittedly, Kaepernick did not seem to take the Raiders’ rejection well. While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Kaepernick mentioned that he heard an excuse he had heard before. He also said, “I’ve heard a lot of excuses over the years, but most of the time it ends up, ‘Oh, we’re going to see how the quys that we have do. With the Raiders’ situation last year, that was Stidham and Nick Mullens, which to me, you just compare résumés and capabilities, on top of the workout and the feedback, it’s like, ‘O.K., cool.’”
Interestingly, Kaepernick was speaking about the team that has gone on to make some brilliant moves with Brady. The Raiders have recently gone on to bring on Tom Brady at an important position on their staff.

The Raiders-Tom Brady connection
After his retirement, Brady has gone on to come back into the NFL, this time as an owner. Brady has now become a minority owner in the Las Vegas Raiders. He is expected to become an owner with a price tag between $60 to $70 million. Moreover, Brady will need to take the approval of the other team owners and become a part of the ownership board of the Raiders.
All in all, the Raiders might not have picked Kaepernick, but they have brought on another QB from the Bay Area into the fold. It only remains to be seen how the Raiders will benefit from having Brady as part of their ownership.
