The fans watching the Thursday Night broadcast saw Justin Herbert taking quite a beating. He got hit by Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna and remained on the pitch writhing in discomfort. Chargers HC deemed the quarterback’s damages as an abdominal or rib injury. After some medical tests, the insiders officially announced him to have severe injuries in the ribs.
According to PFF’s Ari Meiov, Justin Herbert sustained a rib cartilage fracture late in Thursday night’s loss. Moreover, Coach Brandon Staley revealed they would label the quarterback as day-to-day. This season, the third-year athlete was a possible MVP candidate. However, if the situation escalates, the consideration may face a premature end.

Did a single hit to Justin Herbert alter the AFC West landscape?
The Chiefs vs. Chargers game delivered more than Amazon prime hyped it. Both teams set the AFC West as a benchmark. The Western division has the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders, yet they could not perform to Kansas City and Los Angeles’ level. The Chargers’ offense is heavy, and the defense can swing — Just like Derwin James.

However, with Justin Herbert out for an unknown stretch, one of AFC West’s toughest teams could fall off from the divisional title race. However, since they played on Thursday in Week 2, the Chargers get a couple of days to recuperate. On September 25, they will host the Jacksonville Jaguars in their third game.
Will Herbert make a return? Or will Chase Daniel hold the offensive force? It is subject to witness.
