Broncos QB 1 Russell Wilson scored a five-year contract extension in September. It was for $245 million. However, the star athlete had a disappointing season so far. One of his pass errors led to an OT loss against the Colts. The superstar appeared with a dejected look at a presser.

Later on, Wilson posted a motivational quote by former British PM Winston Churchill on Twitter. It read, “If you’re going through hell, keep going”. The intention was to keep the spirit high when going through a low point. However, several NFL fans reacted to his tweet not in a good taste, after he failed to fire, so far in the NFL.

How did Russell Wilson perform this season?

After 5 weeks, Wilson is yet to really kick off. He is averaging 250.8 yards per game passing. The superstar only recorded four touchdowns to three interceptions. He registered career lows in completion percentage (59.4) and QB passer rating (82.8).

The Broncos are now 2-3 in the new season. With 15 points per game, they are the second-worst scoring offense in the NFL. Their latest loss against Colts did not go well with the fans, and many of them walked out before the start of the OT. As a result, many fans went against Wilson on Twitter.

What is next for Wilson?
