Nicknames are an endearing remark for the fans’ favorite stars in the NFL. But their fellow stars do not shy away from handing out their version of nicknames to their teammates. Back in his rookie year, Julian Edelman was granted this luxury by Randy Moss, as he’d call him ‘Edelnut’.

A funny nickname for the former Patriots WR, one that he remembers to this day. In the latest interview with the Kelce Brothers on New Heights, Edelman would recall fond memories from the man who bossed him around.

He goes Edelnut when I’m talking to my m***** mom you shut the f*** up…I walked away…I was so scared…but he’d always loved me up too you know.” Despite the experiences he had with the man, he respected and appreciated him as he taught him quite a few lessons about the position.

In the same interview, Edelman talks about the lessons he learned about the position. The former WR recalls Moss’s skills with great admiration and amazement at how well he could handle the DBs coming at him. Edelman shares with the Kelce Brothers, “You could learn things from him like how he tracked the ball like like in one-on-ones. He would sit and run and it looked like he wasn’t running and the ball would come.”

Although the WR didn’t stamp his name on the Patriots like Brady and Belichick during his time, the skills he learned from those before him helped him carve out a decent decade with the franchise ending with 3 Super Bowls.
