On Monday, Buffalo Bills suffered a major blow to the free agency, as the Texans snatched their running back Devin Singletary. As per NFL Insider, Adam Schefter, the Texans signed Singletary on a one-year contract worth around $3.75 million. However, the Bills acted quickly, as they replaced Singletary with another running back from the Patriots, who played with Tom Brady in his very first year.

Notably, the Patriots drafted him back in 2019. Since then, he played pretty well for the Pats for four consecutive years. Now, he has an opportunity to play with another MVP-level quarterback, Josh Allen.

As per Schefter of ESPN, the 26-year-old RB Damien Harris has reached an agreement with the Bills on a one-year deal. Notably, the Patriots signed RB James Robinson, recently, which gave them the opportunity to let Harris go. Certainly, the Bills grabbed that opportunity after losing one of their key players.

Harris has been a prolific player for the Patriots. Over the past four seasons, he had 449 carries for 2094 yards; he also had 20 TDs under his name. He has been playing with Mac Jones for the past few years. When the Patriots drafted him back in 2019, Brady was in his last season with the franchise. Although they practiced together, Harris played only five offensive snaps in Brady’s final season.

However, he improved drastically in the following seasons. In 2021, Harris had 15 touchdowns for 929 yards, which was his best season so far. Unfortunately, the 2022 season did not go as planned for him, as he suffered many injuries. He played only 11 games for the New England team and recorded 3 TDs for 462 yards. Harris would be hoping for a better stint with the Bills this upcoming season.

While playing for the Patriots, Harris faced the Bills four times. In those four games, the RB had five touchdowns while averaging around 91 yards per game. His performance was pretty impressive, which could be one of the reasons why the Bills went after him.

On the other hand, Harris will be playing alongside fellow RB James Cook, who had a pretty good rookie year last season; he recorded 507 yards for two TDs. It will be an interesting season for Harris, as he went from Brady to Jones and now will be playing with Allen. If he stays injury free, he could become a lethal weapon for Allen and Co. Earlier, Allen received criticism from their GM for their playoff exit against the Bengals. This time, Allen definitely wants to change their fortune in the playoffs, especially after the addition of Harris.
