Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills had their Week 11 game against the Browns scheduled at home. However, due to an unprecedented amount of snowfall, the NFL moved the game to Detroit. And while the game relocated, that was not the luxury people in Buffalo could afford. The western part of New York was subject to a historic snowstorm. With over 6 feet of snowfall spread over the region, it was nothing short of a major inconvenience for the locals. With flights getting cancelled and roads being blocked, it was not even certain whether the Bills would make it to Ford Field. And while the team did make it to the game, Josh Allen still remembers the ‘scary’ experience.

The 26-year-old quarterback recently appeared on Kyle Brandt’s podcast, ‘Kyle Brandt’s Basement’. The two talked about the Bills’ win over the Browns and the experience leading up to it. When the host asked Allen how it felt during the snowstorm, the QB had a straight answer. “Oh, it’s more scary than anything,” revealed Allen. He cited how he was constantly afraid of so many things that could have gone wrong. “There’s so much snow stacked on top of the roof too, like if at any point that fricking ceiling to cave in like its kind of scary like power goes out the AC or the OR that heater goes out,” he added.

But the NFL star did find positives to take out from the snowstorm.

How the snowstorm helped Josh Allen prepare for the game

When the storm settled the next morning, the quarterback had the task of trying to shovel snow out of his driveway. After a week with no workout, according to the former first-round pick, it turned out to be just the workout he needed. “My body wasn’t really used to exerting that much energy in the last two weeks,” added Allen. “I guess it was a good way for me to stay in shape for the game.

The quarterback even gave a special nod to the Bills‘ Mafia, who helped the team make it to Detroit. After a historic snowfall, Allen was not alone in his effort to shovel out the snow. The player accepted that there was a lot of help from the fans who took part in assisting him to clear out his hallway. And he duly thanked them for it as well. Following the win against the Browns, the QB even mentioned the fans in his post-game speech.
