For the first time after 15 seasons that the Green Bay Packers will not have Aaron Rodgers as their starting QB. Now the ball is in the court of the next-generation QB for the Packers, Jordan Love. With A-Rod gearing up to play for the New York Jets, the Packers are now building around their 2020 QB draft pick. There is a lot of pressure on the shoulders of the 24-year-old.

But despite the responsibility Jordan Love now carries, it looks like the team, as well as his teammates, are confident in his abilities on the gridiron. And recently, one of Love’s teammates opened up about how this trust and faith in their new QB1 came into existence.

The 24-year-old QB spent three seasons as the backup to Aaron Rodgers with the Packers. And this has helped him develop his talents and skills, along with the mentorship of the 4X MVP in the past few seasons. This is one of the primary reasons why the Packers are comfortable in considering Love as the starting QB for the new season, and not bringing in any veteran to carry the team after Rodgers’ exit. And now, Packers RB AJ Dillon speaks on the same.

Dillon talked about Jordan Love having one advantage to his name. And that is experience. Unlike other QBs who are freshly coming out of colleges in the draft, Love already spent three seasons in the NFL. And this has led to the team developing a positive attitude toward their new QB1. During an interview with SiriusXM, AJ Dillon said, “People trust him, people listen to him when he enters the huddle, because it’s not like some new guy popped up just calling the shots. He definitely has all the intangibles. He’s earned the trust of the locker room. Guys respect him. Guys wanna play for him.”

Love has not only watched games from the sidelines but has also laced up to take over on the gridiron whenever Rodgers was unavailable. Last season, he had a competition percentage of 66.7 % and 13.9 yards per competition with no INTs in four appearances. And now, the QB is currently looking to boost those numbers this season, as he is engaging in some off-season workouts ahead of training camp.

Could this be Love’s breakout year?

NFL insider Adam Schefter recently stated that even Packers CB Jaire Alexander puts his faith in the 24-year-old signal-caller, dubbing him the “best QB in the league.”  And with training camp just a few days away, Love is already engaging in some advanced workouts with a few of his teammates. According to an article by Pro Football Talk, the newest starting QB of the Packers is currently in California with teammates that include WRs Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Jeff Cotton, and backup QB Danny Etling. With a young roster in place, it looks like Jordan Love understands the importance of building cohesion and chemistry, and the impact it will have on their plays in the field.
