The Cincinnati Bengals will walk into their final game of the season without their star running back Joe Mixon. Mixon joined the long list of Bengals players on the COVID-19 reserve list. He tested positive on Wednesday.
According to the NFL protocols, Joe will have to sit out the Week 18 game against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns game on Saturday is crucial for the Bengals. But they will have to go into that game without Mixon. Their defensive tackle B.J. Hill has been added to the list as well.

Joe Mixon to miss Week 18
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissreo broke the news. As per his sources, the Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon will miss out on Week 18. The Bengals placed Joe on the COVID-19 reserve list on Wednesday. The timing could not have been worse for them. Currently, Mixon is asymptomatic, but he will likely miss out on the game on Sunday.
Cincinnati’s star quarterback Joe Burrow will not be in the starting lineup on Sunday as well. He told the reporters on Wednesday that he is not expected to play. The Bengals head coach Zac Taylor later revealed that Burrow will sit out and rest in Week 18. The quarterback needs to tend to his knee.

Joe Mixon has a total of 1,205 rushing yards this season. Along with that he has also made 13 rushing touchdowns and achieved 314 receiving yards. These are all career-best for Mixon. Samaje Perine is expected to fill Mixon’s shoes on Sunday. Perine has 246 rushing yards along with 55 carries.

Currently, Cincinnati is on the top of the AFC North division. The Bengals have secured a berth in the playoffs with a record of 10-6. They can take it easy in the last game of the regular season. Sitting out their starting quarterback Joe Burrow seems like a good decision. The Bengals need their top squad for the playoffs. According to the NFL protocols, Joe Mixon could return to action next week. The AFC North champions are going to have a tough time without their top stars.
