The debate about who is the best quarterback in the league is an ongoing one. The recent controversy unfolded when Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, made a seemingly innocuous comment during his press conference at the start of minicamp last month. Burrow declared Patrick Mahomes as the best in the league, leaving no room for debate. However, it appears that there was indeed an argument to be had.

Bengals leader had a clear message in response to the trash talk from Chiefs’ stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce just before the Netflix series ‘Quarterback’ showdown. During a recent interview, Burrow provided a direct and composed response to the offseason chatter. Addressing the media, Burrow made it clear that he would not be entangled in the recent exchange of words. Instead, he dropped a clear-cut statement.

Ja’Marr Chase, a wide receiver for the Bengals, supported his quarterback Burrow as best but playfully dismissed Mahomes by saying, “Pat who?” upon learning of Burrow’s acknowledgment. Chase’s lighthearted jab was taken personally by Mahomes and the Chiefs.

In response, Mahomes took to Twitter after the Chiefs’ Super Bowl ring ceremony, posting a photo of himself wearing his two Super Bowl rings with the caption, “That’s who.” Adding fuel to the fire, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce issued a warning to Chase during a recent episode of New Heights, stating, “If you want to talk your shit, talk your shit, pimp. Just better back it up.” The tension was palpable.

However, Burrow put an end to any further trash talk in a recent interview with Kameron Hay of Complex Sports published on Monday. Burrow wisely emphasized that the true resolution lies on the field. He stated, “The best thing about that is it’s all settled on the field. So, we’ll see them in December.” Indeed, the Bengals are scheduled to visit Arrowhead Stadium on New Year’s Eve to face off against the Chiefs.

From winning the National title at LSU to making appearances in the Super Bowl and the AFC Championship Game, Burrow’s accomplishments speak for themselves. The interviewer then posed the question: “What do you believe the Bengals need to do this season in order to finally clinch the Super Bowl victory?”
