At the start of the season, the Bengals had a bit of a hitch. But they soon regained form. Even though the Chiefs have been predominantly unstoppable this season, the Bengals have been immune to their usual brilliance. Across the NFL world, this rivalry has morphed into something that everyone looks forward to.
Their most recent faceoff saw the Bengals emerge as victors. Burrow and his squad won 27-24. Both Mahomes and Burrow have made a huge impact on their team’s performances.
Patrick Mahomes has found a worthy rival in Joe Burrow
Colin Cowherd for one is all praise. Speaking on ‘The Herd’, Cowherd said that the Bengals are built to beat the Chiefs. He added, “The Bengals are built to beat the Chiefs, more than Buffalo, I think they are better situationally than Buffalo because Burrow is a more accurate thrower and it’s easier to get third downs with a long game, mid game and short game than Josh Allen.” Cowherd also spoke of Burrow in comparison to Allen and Mahomes.

He said, “Mahomes may be the raw talent, Allen the physical specimen, but does anybody in critical situations throw the ball more accurately and to the right person more often than Joe Burrow? I think not.” High praise indeed. Because of their iffy start the Bengals, are 8-4. The Chiefs find themselves at a slightly better 9-3 after their recent loss. Burrow has a tough road ahead of him. The Bengals are set to face Tom Brady and the Bucs alongside their divisional rivals the Cleveland Browns. The Chiefs on the other hand have a comparatively smoother road ahead. The NFL World has been impressed with the high level of excellence displayed by the two quarterbacks. Burrow and Mahomes have both gone above and beyond this season. But it is Mahomes who is the front-runner for the MVP season. After losing out on a chance to win the Super Bowl to Burrow last season, Mahomes will be hungry for victory.
