JJ Watt has been in the NFL since 2011. He was a 1st-round pick (11th overall) by AFC South franchise Houston Texans. Over time, he has gone on to establish himself as the best defensive end in the league along with the likes of Aaron Donald, Khalil Mack, and others.

Watt was voted the NFL Defensive Player of the Year on 3 occasions (2012, 2014, and 2015). After an injury-hit season in 2019, Watt returned to the starting line-up in 2020. But even he could not help the Texans from falling to a 4-12 record.

He opted to part ways with the franchise earlier this month and is now a free agent. With several teams being linked for his signature, where will the in-demand defensive star end up this offseason?

JJ Watt and Myles Garrett pairing for the Browns in 2021?

As per the latest reports by Cleveland.com, the Kevin Stefanski-coached Cleveland Browns are one of the potential destinations for Watt this year.

He is being chased by some big teams, no doubt. But Browns fans will be fantasizing about a dream defensive pairing of Myles Garrett and JJ Watt.

“He’s a very, very unique player in that his combination of size, strength, athleticism, quickness and power is really unrivaled.

“He gets those long arms up, and he bats balls in the air. He’s a very, very disruptive player. He lines up all over the formation, so you can’t key in on where he is going to be.

“I have a huge amount of respect for what he has done in his career,” HC Kevin Stefanski said with respect to JJ Watt last November.

Even Portland Trail Blazers superstar CJ McCollum is doing his best to recruit the now 31-year-old free agent.

Former Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year award winner, JJ Watt, is also rumored to be in contact with Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers and the Sean McDermott-coached Buffalo Bills as well. Both teams made it to their respective Conference Finals last season.
