Aaron Rodgers could enlighten the path for Jimmy Garoppolo as he is going through a similar situation as Rodgers did in 2020. Since Rodgers has been in a tumultuous situation regarding his place on the team before, he can certainly be of help to Jimmy G. The QB is looking for a trade after Trey Lance replaced him in 2021.
Garoppolo has had a roller coaster in his career. First, he was picked as a replacement for Tom Brady in the New England Patriots but couldn’t cement his place. Later went to the San Francisco 49ers and was replaced by the rookie QB, Trey Lance, in 2021. Tragedy, you name it!

But what happened with Rodgers that makes Garoppolo’s situation similar to his? First, the Green Bay Packers traded for Jordan Love to replace Aaron Rodgers. However, call it luck or pure hard work, Rodgers turned heads in 2020 and clinched the NFL MVP award, leading to a trade turmoil. Not only this, he continued the streak into 2021 too.
In addition, Garoppolo said that he’d love to repeat what Rodgers did in 2020. He mentions that MVP speaks for itself, and if he could replicate the kind of season Rodgers had, he would be thrilled. But since Garoppolo and his agent confirmed that he is looking for landing spots, his best chance to do an Aaron Rodgers 2020 would be at his new team to cement his place as a starting QB.
