NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo seems to have given his fans a cryptic update about his future on social media. The organization looks all set to move away from the veteran QB as young rookie QB Trey Lance gets his chance. Jimmy Garoppolo will be one of the well-known QBs on the trade market. It seems trading him away will solve multiple problems the franchise might face.

In a recent Instagram post, Garoppolo is seen walking away from the Golden Gate Bridge. The post has led to certain reporters speculating he isn’t going to the Seattle Seahawks. The league had adjusted the salary cap to $208.2 million for 2022. According to sources, the Niners remain currently $4.5 million over that limit.

It seems NFL franchises know the 49ers’ situation and are choosing to wait instead of overspending for acquiring the player.

With only a few days remaining, the franchises are banking on the desperation and the pressure that the Niners will be under for moving him. According to The Athletic’s Matt Barrows, the teams might be using their situation as leverage against the 49ers organization. It seems there is more work to be done before they can even think of trading him away.

Where can Jimmy Garoppolo possibly go?

Despite his limitations as a QB, Garoppolo still has been someone who has been winning football games consistently. He is one of the solid, quick-rhythm passers in the league, with short and intermediate throws. But he has been prone to make mistakes when he feels the pressure as was evident during last season’s NFC Championship game against the Los Angeles Rams.

He holds an impressive record of 35-16 in games during the regular season and the postseason. It will be unlikely that teams would be giving first-round picks for his services. But teams in immediate need of QBs might send second and third-round picks in a potential trade.
