Things didn’t exactly start off on the best note between Aaron Rodgers and former New York Jets QB1 Zach Wilson. Losing his starting spot to the 39-year-old QB left a few spots of resentment for the second overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. Wilson even promised to make Rodgers’ life miserable before the 4x NFL MVP even embarked on the Broadway-bound road. However, after a few weeks of training together, the two seem to be more cordial than ever. And A-Rod even has Wilson’s biggest cheerleader on his side now.
After Aaron Rodgers publicly addressed the relationship between him and Zach Wilson this past week, the new Jets QB1 found support from the most unlikely source. Zach Wilson’s mother is convinced about Rodgers’ proficiency. Both on the field and off it. And she made a unique proposition that Rodgers would very much look forward to.

Back during the 2022 season’s dismal performance, Zach Wilson was asked what his reaction would be if the Jets roped in a veteran passer for the 2023 season. And the 23-year-old didn’t mince his words, stating that he will make “life h–l in practice every day” for any such acquisition. Well, the Jets did just that, as they acquired the services of Super Bowl XLV MVP Aaron Rodgers this offseason. However, the duo’s relationship has taken a rather scenic route, as opposed to expectations.
Aaron Rodgers declared on Friday that instead of making his life h–l, Wilson has been a “joy to work with.” Wilson’s mother, Lisa Neeleman, gave a warm shout-out to the New York QB1 right after the interview. “I can’t wait to meet Aaron Rodgers. Not because of anything he’s done on the field. But because of the person he is off the field,” she shared in an IG story.

Rodgers has been steadily building his bond with his new teammates. The Jets roster is frequently out on the town as the young players look to be giving Rodgers the best city tour possible. However, Zach Wilson is not done making things hard for Rodgers, entirely.
Aaron Rodgers knows his purpose in the Gang Green camp
“How old is he, 40? He’s double my age. I’m like: ‘You’re like my big brother I never had.’ Sometimes your little brother has to make your life hell,” Wilson jokingly said on Friday. And the big brother role is precisely what Rodgers is here for. Yes, Aaron Rodgers has already made promises of a Lombardi this year for the Gang Green fanatics. However, that’s not his sole objective.

“I feel like that’s a big part of my role here. To not just play at a super high level for this team and help us win, but to make sure he [Zach Wilson] is ready when his time comes,” the former Green Bay Packers signal-caller said.
