4X MVP QB Aaron Rodgers is gearing up for a new journey with the New York Jets. After spending his entire 18-season career with the Green Bay Packers, A-Rod is now following the footsteps of Packers legend Brett Favre, as his Big Apple debut inches closer and closer. And the expectations are piling up for the 39-year-old with the Jets. While fans expect Rodgers to lead them to a Super Bowl victory just like Joe Namath back in 1969, his first checkpoint will be to end the team’s 12-year playoff drought. 

While Aaron Rodgers is now building cohesion with his new teammates in training camp, many wondered how many seasons the 39-year-old QB will play with the Jets. And to answer this, A-Rod recently gave a huge hint as to when he is planning on hanging up his cleats. 

Aaron Rodgers drops hint on retirement

While Rodgers’s contract is still to be reworked, he is currently set to earn $107.55 million in 2024, as he dropped his 2023 salary to $1.2 million. Not only this, but the Jets gave up a 2023 first-round, second-round, and sixth-round draft pick along with a conditional 2024-first-round pick for the 4X MVP. And now, Aaron Rodgers believes that it is his duty to repay back the Jets who place their faith and hopes in him as their QB1. 

According to an article by The Mirror, ESPN recently interviewed Aaron Rodgers. During the interview, he said, “The Jets gave up a lot for me, so to just play for one year would be disservice.” He further went on to talk about how he might play for a few more seasons if this one year turns out to be a “magical year.” He further went on to explain, stating, “It’s more than that. It’s how my body feels, and I’ve made some changes this offseason with some training and diet.”

While the future of A-Rod is still speculation, his teammates have highly appreciated his presence at the team’s facility. And even fans flocked to watch their QB messiah in action in Sunday’s training.

The Rodgers effect is in full swing

Earlier during a press conference, Jets’ 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year Sauce Gardner talked about how he’s taking a “whole different approach” in the new season of the NFL. He also talked about how the team has “something special right now” with the arrival of Aaron Rodgers and other new members to the roster. And during their first public training session on Sunday, around 2,000 fans flocked in to watch their latest 4X MVP QB addition in action. Rodgers went on to put on an extraordinary display of his pinpoint passing and arm strength, leaving fans in awe. And after seeing A-Rod in action in his new home, the fans have more expectations from Rodgers to make the team a Super Bowl contention-worthy team once again.
