Odell Beckham Jr. is currently a hot commodity right now. The wide receiver who just turned 30 a few days ago is currently a free agent. After a Super Bowl-winning season with the Los Angeles Rams. An injury has kept the player away from the turf but not the headlines. Following a disagreement on the terms of his new contract, OBJ will be moving elsewhere this season. And while he has not played for a long time now, Jerry Jones has made an interesting comparison which will only boost the WR’s morale.

The owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, recently talked to the ‘105.3 The Fan’. He addressed the rumors, linking OBJ with Dallas, making rounds. The players inside the organization have already been voicing their interests in the wideout. From Dak Prescott to Micah Parsons, all have suggested Jones to go after the player. In this particular situation, Jones brought up an interesting comparison from the past. It reminded him of former Super Bowl champion CB Deion Sanders. “I love it, that they have that kind of perspective,” Jones said about his players making their plea public.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s interest reminds Jones of the Deion Sanders acquisition

By comparison, both players were big names when linked with the Cowboys. However, Sanders was a force on the defensive side of things. On the other hand, OBJ is a big-time offensive playmaker. What is similar between the two? Well, it is how both of them had magnetic personalities which garnered a lot of support from players within the organization. With Sanders, legends like Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman implored the owner to get the CB. “They said, ‘Jerry, get him!'” added Jones.

Now history is repeating itself. QB Dak Prescott, RB Ezekiel Elliott, WR CeeDee Lamb and LB Micah Parsons have all publicly supported the interest. Parsons said, “He’s a guy you want on the team….. He can add real value to the team and help us do what we want to do.” Encouraging both the fans and the management to go after the player.

Dallas needs a new cowboy to help the offense

America’s team just lost their main wide target, Amari Cooper, for next to nothing this offseason, with the weight falling majorly on CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup. Lamb has 706 yards in 9 games. On the other hand, Gallup has been struggling with injuries, which has limited the 26-year-old to only 170 yards in 6 games for the season. Hence, it is absolutely clear that the team needs help in the receiving corps.

OBJ is currently one of the best WRs left in the market. As he is currently team-less, many organizations have registered their interest. Since the Super Bowl, he has not taken to the field and would still need a little time to get his conditioning right. But the player has a resume which speaks for itself. So it would be difficult, but well beyond wise, for the Cowboys to make sure to add him to their camp.
