Once upon a time, on February 5, 2017, in Super Bowl LI, a frustrated former Falcons ex-linebacker Jeff Ulbrich witnessed a dramatic turn of events. New England Patriots were pitted against Atlanta Falcons, and during the course of the game, Ulbrich’s team had established a commanding lead of 28-3 by the 3rd quarter. However, this advantage swiftly eroded as the Patriots mounted an incredible comeback. The final score favored the Patriots, who secured a 34-28 victory and claimed the trophy.

This marked the pivotal moment when the Patriots began to execute their on-field strategy with utmost precision, while Ulbrich and the Falcons found themselves in a helpless position that would later be etched into history. After which, Ulbrich might not have been a fan of the famous saying coined by Pats Coach Bill Belichick, “Do your job,” a sentiment that became evident during the premiere episode of HBO’s Tuesday series, “Hard Knocks.”

Jets’ defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich, doesn’t like the saying “Do Your Job,” which was featured on the recent episode of ‘Hard Knocks.’ He’s not happy with the basic and uninspiring motivational message shown in the show.

According to a report by Zack Cox, who co-hosts the NESN Patriots Podcast, Ulbrich had strong words about it. He said, “Do my job — is that good enough? F— no. That’s the rest of the NFL, isn’t it? ‘Do your job. Do your job.’ F— that.” Jeff Ulbrich used those words to talk about one of the well-known sayings of the Patriots.

Ulbrich, in the debut episode of the HBO series, said, “Do your job, then now what?” The Jets’ DC quite openly shared his frustration and spoke from the heart, mentioning: If we all just do our job and a little bit more, we’ll have 22 players doing their part on the field. Imagine this- 22 people out there giving it their all. So, then the question is for the offense- “Now what?”

Dedicated Green Gang fans are well aware of the strong aversion that both HC Robert Saleh and future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers have towards being constantly trailed by cameras, especially on shows like ‘Hard Knocks’. This sentiment was evident right from Saleh’s introductory speech on Hard Knocks.

HC likened the Jets to an eagle, a symbol of prowess and dominance, in contrast to other teams portrayed as crows. This analogy was meant to motivate the Jets to adopt a hunter’s mentality, rather than being the hunted.

But the Jets’ wellspring of motivation didn’t stop there. In another clip captured by HBO’s cameras, Rodgers was seen engaging in conversation with Sauce Gardner. During this exchange, he conveyed to the rookie Gardner, “You’ll be here one day,” implying that Gardner has the potential to eventually secure a spot in the prestigious Hall of Fame.
