The Packers had a phenomenal game this Week, crushing the formidable Vikings 41-17, leaving no room for making a comeback. All thanks to the crazy resistance offered by Green Bay’s defense. Meanwhile, the highlight of the game was Jaire Alexander’s dig at Justin Jefferson performing the iconic griddy after blocking the passer.

The Packers avenged the season-opener loss in style, giving it back and letting the Vikings know the taste of their own medicine. When Rodgers’ side lost in Week 1, fans expected a contest between Jefferson and Alexander. It turns out the duo didn’t disappoint a bit and laid the foundation stones for a great rivalry in years to come.

The iconic arm-swinging and heel-tapping move prominently known as ‘griddy’ happened to be the signature move of Justin Jefferson. Ever since he stepped into the NFL world, the youngster performed this dance move after scoring a touchdown.

However, it backfired during the Week 17 game. As one could see from the above snippet, Alexander took the moment to mock the wide receiver after blocking the pass in the first quarter. Well, fans found it hilarious, garnering numerous reactions.

Even before the game had begun, the Packers All-Pro cornerback revealed his intentions for the matchup. Not to mention avenging the loss happened to be the primary agenda. However, he was asked to react to the growing rivalry between him and Jefferson and how he planned to counter his progression. The Louisville product cleverly responded, calling it a fluke in Week 1.

“He’s a really good receiver. But at the end of the day, I’m a really good corner. We’ve got really good corners, we’ve got really good linebackers, D-line, whatever it is. You don’t want to put too much focus on that one person because it’s like, the first game, that was a fluke,” the 25-year-old said, per NFL.com.

Justin Jefferson predicted an exact scenario ahead of the game

There is no debate over the fact the Packers’ defense happens to remain on the top 10 rankings this year. Hence making transitions and changing the course of the play becomes an obvious decision.

Ahead of the matchup, Jefferson revealed that he got plenty of wide spots at the receiving end in Week 1. However, the scenario won’t be the same this time. “I definitely remember Jaire saying he was wishing he could play me man-to-man more and be on me more. So I’m pretty sure they’re going to have a different plan than what they had the first game of the season,” the second-year prospect said.

Regardless of whatever the result is, the LSU product remains a leader in passing yards and catches this season. Before Week 17, he progressed at an unrealistic pace averaging 117.1 and required a little more than 200 yards to break the NFL record of Calvin Johnson (1964 yds) in 2012. It will be interesting to see if he can breach this mark in the final game of the season.
