NFL franchise Jacksonville Jaguars are gearing themselves for a sarcastic reception during their Week 18 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. The franchise has come under immense scrutiny this season and has been disappointed with their failing GM Trent Baalke. Jacksonville has been sitting dead last with a 2-14 record this season in the AFC South. The poor season has just highlighted their failures elsewhere. A team that entered the 2021 campaign with high hopes drafted Trevor Lawrence with their No.1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
They are on their way to another dreadful season, almost a third in three years with another new coach. But the franchise refuses to part ways with Jaguars GM Trent Baalke, who many realize shouldn’t be around anymore. The recent firing of coach Urban Meyer, someone who was Baalke’s recommendation, really leaves him in a bad spot.

Meyer’s dismissal only underlines further the valid frustrations that fans currently are venting against the owner Shahid Khan. The situation constantly seems to be spiraling out for the American-Pakistani businessman, who is now in a very delicate position. He has to make important decisions that will guide the eventual future of a struggling franchise. The simple actions of these Jaguars fans for gaining his attention display more dedication than fixing things from getting relegated to mediocrity.

Despite the owner turning a blind eye to their problems, the fans have been united and in full force. They have flooded social media websites with clown emojis with Khan’s mustache as their profile pictures. The protest seems to be another concrete effort from the following to demand the sacking of Baalke from his post.
According to a CBS report on Jaguars head coach search, several top candidates seem to be feeling demotivation towards the franchise’s strategies. Many potential coaches recognize Baalke to be a power-hungry and political figure behind the scenes. The GM has a previous history of conflict during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.

The future for Baalke doesn’t seem bright, as all signs only point to the writing on the wall. The owners will look for a scapegoat when this grows into a big problem and the GM will be the first in line to take the fall.
