The NFL regular season kicked off at full throttle on Sunday! However, it was marred by unfortunate news of injuries to several players on both sides of the ball. J.K. Dobbins, the star running back for the Baltimore Ravens, had to be assisted off the field after suffering a devastating injury. Meanwhile, Colts‘ quarterback Anthony Richardson also found himself on the injury list, with a bruised left knee sustained during the first half against the Jaguars. This injury immediately sparked concerns among fans.
However, Richardson’s injury during the loss in the season opener isn’t as merely serious as the 24-year-old running back. It has been reported that the QB is absolutely fine and will be back on the gridiron in week 2.
What about J.K. Dobbins, Raven’s star?

The Ravens’ star wide WR was not as fortunate, as his injury has sidelined him for the entire season. The team’s HC, John Harbaugh, announced the update after the team’s triumph 25-9 over the Texans. He also added that everyone didn’t expect him to go like this and hoped that he would make a comeback as soon as possible. Dobbins will get into rehab, and will surely be back in the 2024 season.

Dobbins, who had been performing exceptionally well in the season opener, encountered trouble in the third quarter. He caught a pass from Lamar Jackson for 5 yards and was then tackled near the sideline by M.J. Stewart. He then slowly sidestepped towards the sideline. It is now confirmed that Dobbins has torn Achilles, which will take months to recover. He had a staggering eight carries for 22 yards and a touchdown before he was assisted off the field.
Dobbins’ determination to make a comeback is evident, despite having faced several setbacks due to injuries in the past.
Dobbins’ injury from 2021!
It’s no secret that the running back position is one of the most crucial positions in football, and it hasn’t been much kind to Dobbins. He also met with a season-ending injury back in 2021. It occurred during the Ravens’ preseason practice, right before his contract year. It was an ACL tear, which kept him sidelined for about two years. However, the star RB was ready to go and found a place off the PUP list this year on Aug. 14, and reported to training camp with excellent shape.

Notably, his teammate, Odell Beckham Jr. who also joined the Ravens this season after a recovery, expressed his feelings about this injury and sent love and prayers to Dobbins’ family and friends.
It is only week 1, and several athletes are already on the injured list. As the season moves forward, the list is only expected to grow, unfortunately. Nevertheless, it will be intriguing to see if these injuries will seriously hurt a team.
