NFL GOAT Tom Brady will receive a personal day every week. The Bucs team said the 45-year-old will not attend practice on Wednesdays. This is the first time in his two-decade career he has asked for a weekly day off. The legendary QB said he deserved one day off a week. His request came amid a troubled relationship with his wife and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

The future HOF-er spoke about the relaxation time on the ‘Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray’ podcast. “The fact that I’ve worked weekends for the last 23 years, I do deserve one day off a week, so I think maybe, and I don’t know if it’s Wednesdays, but I get Tuesdays off,” Brady said.

Tom Brady and the story of a weekly day off

The NFL great has played 22 seasons so far, and he is the most experienced among the current generation. Brady used to take an occasional Thursday off. The weekly day off is usually reserved for the veterans in the league.

“When you’re younger, your body is a lot different. And when you’re 45, your body changes a lot. And you look at your arm, and you’ve got bruises, and you’ve got cuts, and the way it is, you go, ‘Okay, how much longer do I want to make this commitment?,” the experienced QB added.

However, a weekly pause would mean Tampa’s backup QB Blaine Gabbert takes over his role in his absent days. A break would ensure TB12 gets time to analyze and think about his game and mental space to keep calm. The head coach Todd Bowles also backed the decision. He said it is important to have rest days for most players.
