“I’ve Watched Them All Year”: Tom Brady Draws Out Similarities Between Himself, Rob Gronkowski and Dynamic Chiefs Duo

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have established themselves as a legendary duo with the kind of chemistry that turns tides when it’s needed the most. But now, the NFL world is witnessing the emergence of another dynamic duo who may take away the mantle from Brady and Gronk.

One might question the relevance of such a comparison. Surely, there’s no one who is on par with Brady’s seven Super Bowl titles. However, a terrific season from this particular duo has called for this question. So, what does TB12 think about his usurpers?

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have the kind of chemistry that leaves their rivals envious. The invisible bond that connects the duo leaves no room for error. Individually Mahomes and Kelce are brilliant at what they do. But together they make the impossible happen. The Chiefs TE is a huge offensive weapon. Running circles around their opponents’ defense, Kelce’s presence on the field always gives the Chiefs the upper hand. Combined with Patrick Mahomes’ quick feet and excellent aim, the TE is always the go-to man. But why does this sound so familiar?

For years Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski stunned the NFL world with their dynamic connection. Gronk has always been one of TB12’s favored targets. When asked if Mahomes and Kelce reminded them of the dynamic bond he had with Gronkowski, Brady had much to say. While reviewing the Super Bowl game on his podcast ‘Let’s Go!,’ TB12 said, “Gronk was truly one of a kind. I think [sic] Travis and Patrick, you should just marvel at that. It’s incredible to watch two people on the team who are the best in the business at what they’re doing.”

His praise for Mahomes and Kelce didn’t stop there. Speaking about noticing the way they are in sync he added, “I’ve watched them all year- I studied the Chiefs a lot this year.” While the Chiefs duo have proven their capabilities, would they be a better pick compared to Brady and Gronk?

Travis Kelce is perhaps the most well-rounded TE at present. Alongside that, the trajectory of his career is bound to head upward with Patrick Mahomes at his side. For starters, Mahomes is in his prime. His most recent performance says all that needs to be said. Together, they’ve lifted two Super Bowl trophies in the last five years. One statement from Brady- “People will say, ‘How can they not stop them?’ The question is, ‘How do you stop them?“  stands out. This perhaps is the question weighing on all the teams who go up against the Chiefs.

The duo is now tied with Brady and Gronkowski for the most playoff-receiving TDs in the game’s history. However, this doesn’t discredit Brady and Gronk. They’re still more decorated when compared to the Chiefs duo. But their retirement leaves the door wide open for the Chiefs QB and TE to swoop in and take over. As Kansas City sets out to establish a dynasty, the Mahomes-Kelce connection could potentially be this defining factor that sets them apart for years to come.
