Former New York Giants QB Eli Manning has responded to the retirement rumors surrounding Tom Brady. In a recent interview, Manning gave a really savage response to the question on the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s future in the NFL.

“I’m not sure. I know I’m not going to ask him about his future,” Manning told the Spun.

Manning vouched the fact that the Buccaneers QB can still play elite football at this age. And the two-time Super Bowl MVP won’t be surprised if Brady does give it another go.

“I’ve learned to keep quiet and stay out of that mix. It wouldn’t surprise me if he came back and played. This is his lifestyle – he can still play, and he can still throw. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind being in an offense where they can run the ball a little bit and take some of the pressure off of him. When you have to throw it every down, it can be difficult. It wouldn’t surprise me if he came back and played again,” Manning added.

The Buccaneers failed to effectively run the ball in the 2022 season, forcing Brady to throw the ball most of the time. That made the job of the opposing defenses easier. Thus, the fans saw a slump in Brady’s form. But Manning played against and overcame a tough nut Brady too.

The epic rivalry

Eli Manning and Tom Brady shared a rivalry like no other. The former Giants QB wasn’t the biggest rival Brady has had in his 23 years in the NFL. That title will probably go to his brother Peyton Manning. But the younger Manning is the only QB who beat Brady twice in the Super Bowl.
